To mark its 15th anniversary, the Museum Collectie Brands is organising the Jans Brands Art Competition<\/strong>. With this special competition, the museum is paying a lasting tribute to its founder, Jans Brands (1932\u20132019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this occasion, the museum asked the artists of Atelier Kunstvereniging Emmen (AKE)<\/a> to create a work of art inspired by Jans Brands. His personality, his passion for collecting and his life story form the starting point for a series of new, unique creations. All submitted works will be featured in a special exhibition at the museum, bringing together different styles and interpretations. From paintings to busts: each artist gives shape to the legacy of Jans Brands in their own unique way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public plays an important role in this competition. Visitors can vote for their favourite artwork. The artwork with the most votes wins and will be given a permanent place in the museum. The winner will be announced on 17 November during a festive awards ceremony. In addition to the honour, the winning artist will receive a cheque worth \u20ac1,000.
