Every year we look forward to it, the December month. A period of holidays, festivities and cosiness. It is also the month of counting down to a new year. Who does not know the advent calendar where behind each box is a chocolate, present or even a small amount of money if you are lucky. In an exhibition inspired by the advent calendar, Museum Collectie Brands counts down the days of December using 31 objects. Of old and new traditions that come to mind when we think of winter, Saint Nicholas, Christmas and being with our loved ones.
